Jesus said ” let us go to the other side of the lake ” so they set out…he fell asleep and a storm of wind came on the lake and they were filled with fear and were in danger. (life is a journey that has its storms – storms don’t last forever!) V:24 And they went and woke him saying,” Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; and they ceased and there was calm. He said to them, “Where is your faith?” (Luke 8:22-27) Does this imply that had they demonstrated faith they could have rebuked the storm. They were rebuked because Jesus had said they were going to the other side! In John 6:16ff in another storm when the disciples were in fear, Jesus came walking on the water – life’s storms were under his feet and by faith we can walk on them too and not be drowned in them. Bring Jesus into the storm and he will rebuke it. In Luke 8 the disciples went to Jesus and that’s all we can do too.
