Frank no bodies Boy
There is a village on the south coast Scotland that in the old days sometimes saw shipwrecks on its coast. One night the villagers heard the warning bell that signalled that a ship was in trouble. They all rushed to the beach to see if they could help. The ship was breaking up. Tragically there were no survivors.
At the break of dawn an old gentleman was taking one last walk along beach. He aimly kicked a canvas and was surprised that it moved. When he untangled the canvas, he found alive a small child. He had never had children and so, the villagers agreed that the boy could be reared by old the man. Frank grew and became old enough to go to school. Unfortunately, as young children can be, he was bullied by the others. They knew the story and so they called him “Frank No Bodies Boy”. He would become angry and get into fights.
One day he asked grandfather why he was called that, and his ‘grandfather’ told him the story of the shipwreck. Upon hearing the story Frank felt better.
Sometime later, at a school assembly, a famous explorer came to talk to the children. He enthralled the boys and girls with stories of his explorations. He finally told them how he had lost his wife and infant son in a shipwreck, while they were on their way to meet him. The ship went down off the coast of Scotland somewhere.
Frank was excited! It sounded like his story! He couldn’t but help to wonder. After school he ran home, crying out, “Grandfather, Grandfather!” and he told of the explorer. Frank and his grandfather went into town and found the explorer in a hotel. The story was true. Frank now had a father and suddenly Frank was somebody. He was no longer Frank no bodies boy!
Let me tell you this world is a shipwreck, and we are orphans of the universe. Jesus is the great explorer who came in search of us and NOW, if we accept Him, we are sons and daughters of God. We belong to His family.
